Tashkeel will present Khali Balak Men RISO, a new group exhibition celebrating the distinctive art of risograph printing, from 17 July to 21 August 2026 at its Nad Al Sheba gallery in Dubai.
Curated by Ibrahim Zaki, the exhibition brings together artists and designers who have explored risograph printing through workshops, personal practice and collaborative projects. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, the exhibition embraces the medium’s signature qualities—misaligned layers, vibrant colours, visible grain and textured finishes—that make every print unique.
Situated somewhere between traditional printmaking and independent publishing, risograph printing is known for its experimental nature. The exhibition invites visitors to experience how the medium encourages slower, more thoughtful image-making while celebrating the unexpected results that emerge through the interaction of ink, paper and machine.
Through a collection of posters, prints, cards and other experimental works, Khali Balak Men RISO highlights the collaborative spirit of the process, presenting printing as more than a production technique. Instead, it becomes a platform for storytelling, creative exchange and community building.
The exhibition features works by a diverse group of artists, including Ahmed Mansour, Aysha Saif Al Hemrani Al Shamsi, Bassem Boules, Dina Saadi, Mariam Abbas, Mohannad Orabi, Nasir Nasrallah, Sara Baali and Weam S. Ali, alongside curator Ibrahim Zaki.
Founded in 2008 by Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Tashkeel has become one of the UAE’s leading creative hubs, supporting artists and designers through exhibitions, residencies, workshops and professional development programmes. The organisation also provides studio facilities and specialist production spaces that encourage experimentation across disciplines, helping nurture the country’s growing creative economy.
Khali Balak Men RISO will be open daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm at Tashkeel’s Nad Al Sheba 1 gallery in Dubai. The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to discover a printmaking process that celebrates experimentation and demonstrates how creative limitations can become a source of artistic innovation.
