There’s a very specific kind of feeling many of us are experiencing right now. It’s not burnout, not anxiety, not even stress in the obvious sense—just a quiet sense of being slightly off. Your routine feels heavier, your mind feels louder, and even when nothing is technically wrong, things don’t feel quite right.
The real problem? You’re doing too much.
In moments of uncertainty, our instinct is often to add: more content, more opinions, more routines, more “fixes.” It feels like control. In reality, it’s just noise—and the more noise you add, the harder it becomes to hear what your body actually needs.
Here’s what nobody tells you: uncertainty doesn’t need solutions. It needs stability. And stability doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from doing less, consistently. Not dramatic resets or overhauls. Just small, repeated actions that let your system feel safe again.

What Actually Helps
- Reduce input – Even “good” content can be overwhelming. Not every reel, update, or opinion deserves your attention. Silence isn’t empty; it’s regulating.
- Simplicity over optimization – You don’t need a 10-step routine. You need something repeatable and effortless, whether it’s your meals, skincare, or daily schedule.
- Familiarity over novelty – Forget chasing the latest solution. Lean on what has worked for you before. Familiar patterns create a sense of safety, which is exactly what your body is asking for.
- Consistency over intensity – One perfect day won’t fix anything. Small actions, repeated daily, build stability quietly over time.

Dr. Bakshhi also reminds us to watch out for habits that feel productive but are exhausting, as well as the constant overconsumption of ideas disguised as self-improvement. More information doesn’t mean more clarity, and the pressure to “figure it out” immediately rarely helps.
The truth is simple: you don’t need a dramatic reset or a new life plan. You just need to pause, simplify, and create steadiness.
In uncertain moments, we often look for something new to hold onto. But what actually works is usually what has always worked: simple actions, repeated consistently, without overthinking. It may not look impressive, but it works—and sometimes, that’s enough.
