The Mark Opens in Al Quoz With a Fresh Take on Classic Café Dining

A new café concept has opened in Dubai’s Al Quoz district, bringing together classic international flavours, contemporary cooking techniques and a design-focused setting.

Located in Q East, The Mark is the latest venture from Emirati entrepreneurs Alawi Al Braik and Abdulla Al Shaibani. The café aims to reinterpret familiar dishes and desserts while creating a space that reflects the creative character of Al Quoz.

The partnership combines Al Shaibani’s experience in developing community-focused projects, including Q East and M77, with Al Braik’s background in hospitality through concepts such as Wakame, Gyuto, The Fruit Boutique, BIDAYA and Kawai.

Mark Al Quoz Food Menu Items

The menu centres on recognisable dishes presented with a modern approach. A traditional vegetable sandwich is reworked with updated ingredients and preparation, while the café’s steak is pan-seared using classic techniques designed to maximise flavour. The dessert selection includes contemporary versions of banoffee pie, German Black Forest cake and Spanish Basque cheesecake.

One of the café’s distinguishing features is its coffee programme, which draws inspiration from well-known desserts and beverages. Signature drinks include a coffee interpretation of the French Mont Blanc dessert and a coffee-inspired take on the Puerto Rican piña colada.

The interior extends the café’s concept of blending heritage with contemporary design. Restored vintage cars from the 1980s are displayed throughout the space, each updated with modern design elements to complement the venue’s aesthetic.

Mark Al Quoz Classic Café Dining

Located in Dubai’s growing creative hub, The Mark positions itself as more than a traditional café, combining food, coffee, design and automotive heritage within a single destination. The concept reflects the continued evolution of Al Quoz as a neighbourhood that attracts independent hospitality and lifestyle brands alongside galleries, studios and creative businesses.
