The first Dubai Curl Festival will bring families, hair experts and brands together for a day focused on caring for curls in the Gulf
Curly, coily and kinky hair is getting its own day in Dubai.
The inaugural Dubai Curl Festival will take place on Saturday, October 10, bringing together families, hair experts and beauty brands for a day of workshops, demonstrations, styling advice and activities.
The festival is being organised by Oh My Knots, a Dubai-based community platform focused on curly, coily and kinky hair. The idea is to address some of the specific challenges that come with caring for textured hair in the Gulf, including heat, humidity and hard water.
According to research by Oh My Knots, 69% of its community is looking for product recommendations suited to the UAE, while 77% would prefer simpler hair routines with fewer products.
The programme will include talks and live demonstrations from curl specialists, along with brand experiences, wellness sessions and activities for children.
A dedicated Kids’ Curl Corner will give younger attendees a space to learn about and celebrate different types of curly hair.
Beauty and lifestyle brands including LUSH and lululemon are also expected to take part, with participating hair brands offering samples and goodie bags.
The festival runs from 10am to 6pm on October 10 in Dubai.
