Dubai Esports & Games Festival 2026 Draws Strong Public and Private Sector Support for Gaming Industry Growth

Major organisations including du, Amazon, Dubai Culture, Jetour UAE and talabat back initiatives focused on talent development, innovation and community engagement.

A wide range of public and private sector organisations have joined forces through the Dubai Esports & Games Festival to support the continued growth of Dubai’s gaming and esports ecosystem.

Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the festival is running until 7 June and brings together gaming enthusiasts, creators, developers, students and industry professionals through a citywide programme of events and activities.

Presented by du and supported by partners including Amazon, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Jetour UAE and talabat, the festival highlights a collaborative effort to encourage innovation, develop talent and create opportunities within the gaming sector.

Beyond live gaming experiences, DEF 2026 includes initiatives designed to support future industry professionals. These include the GameOn Programme, Education Engagement Programme, School Cups and the DEF Educational Summit, which connect students, educators and aspiring professionals with opportunities across the wider gaming industry.

Festival organisers said partner support has helped expand the programme to include esports tournaments, interactive experiences, educational activities, cosplay competitions, community events and industry-focused platforms.

Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du, said the company’s involvement reflects a commitment to supporting digital experiences that connect people with new opportunities and communities.

Meanwhile, Dubai Culture highlighted the growing role of gaming and esports within the creative economy. Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design & Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, said the festival helps advance cultural and creative industries while providing young people with opportunities to develop skills across art, design, technology and innovation.

The festival has also attracted support from brands looking to engage with Dubai’s growing gaming community.

Samer Costantine, Regional Sales Manager of Jetour UAE at Elite Group Holding, described the event as a meeting point for technology, creativity and the next generation of innovators.

Stefano Martinelli, Vice President of Amazon Middle East and North Africa, said the company sees growing opportunities to connect with gaming audiences across the region and is participating in the festival through interactive experiences and promotions.
