While Dubai’s beaches and indoor attractions often dominate summer plans, the desert is emerging as an unexpected alternative for residents and visitors looking to spend time outdoors.
Arabian Adventures has introduced seasonal offers on a range of desert experiences in Dubai’s Margham Desert through August 31, with discounts of up to 50% on selected activities. The campaign also draws attention to the area’s microclimate, where temperatures can feel up to 7°C cooler than central Dubai during the early morning and evening hours.
The cooler conditions, combined with open landscapes and quieter surroundings, have helped fuel interest in desert experiences during the summer months. According to the company, bookings for selected offerings, including private dining under the stars, have increased since the promotion was introduced in late June.
Sébastien Garcia, Vice President of Destination Management for the UAE and Gulf Region at dnata Travel Group, said the desert offers a different way to experience Dubai during the warmer season.
“When people think about summer in Dubai, the desert isn’t always the first place that comes to mind. Yet, it offers a completely different perspective of the destination, especially during the cooler morning and evening hours.”
Among the experiences available are morning desert adventures featuring dune driving, camel rides, optional sandboarding and breakfast; evening safaris with live entertainment and traditional activities; guided dune buggy drives; private luxury desert experiences with sunset dining; and camel trekking excursions.
The promotion is valid until August 31, 2026, subject to availability.
Beyond desert excursions, Arabian Adventures also offers private city tours in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, discounted attraction passes, and airport transfer services.
As more residents choose staycations and local experiences during the summer, Dubai’s desert continues to offer a quieter side of the emirate, particularly during sunrise and sunset when the landscape is at its most comfortable and visually striking.
