Desert living gets a new address at Al Wadi

The Ritz-Carlton Residences Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert introduces 35 private villas, while Farmhouse by Syrco prepares to reopen with a new wine bar

The desert is becoming more than a place to escape to. At Al Wadi in Ras Al Khaimah, it is increasingly becoming a place to live.

Marjan Hospitality has introduced a new collection of 35 standalone private villas at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert. Set within the 1,235-acre Al Wadi Nature Reserve, the residences are available for purchase, with handover expected in early 2028.

The collection includes three-, four- and five-bedroom villas designed around privacy, indoor-outdoor living and views of the surrounding desert. Each villa comes with a private temperature-controlled swimming pool, while the architecture combines contemporary design with elements inspired by Arabian heritage and the natural landscape.

Residents will also have access to a dedicated Residents’ Clubhouse, as well as the wider hospitality, dining, wellness and nature experiences at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert.

A new chapter for Farmhouse by Syrco

There is also something new for visitors to the resort.

Farmhouse by Syrco is set to reopen on September 21 following a design refresh and refurbishment. The updated restaurant will introduce a new wine bar, with a renewed focus on dining, wine and tasting experiences.

The refreshed space will accommodate 270 guests across its indoor dining area, outdoor terrace and wine bar. The design retains the restaurant’s warm, rustic character while adding natural materials and more refined details.

The new wine bar will offer a dedicated space for wine discovery, tastings and retail, adding another element to the resort’s dining offering.

Bringing local fragrance into the desert

Earlier this year, the resort also introduced a different kind of sensory experience through a partnership with Emirati perfume house The Scent Library.

Founded in Ras Al Khaimah by Emirati perfumer Saeed Al Nuaimi, The Scent Library draws on the UAE’s landscape and heritage for its fragrance experiences.

Guests can take part in guided fragrance and blending sessions, as well as private in-villa experiences with a master perfumer. Ingredients including Emirati rose, moringa, sidr and oud are part of the experience.

Together, the residences, dining and fragrance experiences are expanding Al Wadi beyond the traditional resort stay, bringing together private living, hospitality and elements of the UAE’s landscape and culture.

As Alison Grinnell, Group COO of Marjan and CEO of Marjan Hospitality, put it, the aim is to create a destination people can return to, invest in and ultimately call home.
